In September 2018, only 3 weeks after my previous operation I began to get headaches and I was admitted to hospital. I had two shunts so both had to be checked – double trouble. The surgeons decided to take out one of the shunts and they would try and do a ventricular fenestration again. This time it was a success! It was quite a painful operation because the left hand side shunt and tubing came out which left me quite sore. I was not a happy bunny when I first came out. I was very groggy from the anaesthetic when I first woke and I felt very sore . After a few days of rest and recovery I got to come home to my nice, comfy, cozy bed. Home Sweet Home.

The surgeon had taken a special video of the procedure and I got me take it away with me. It was very surreal for me to be able to see what had happened inside my head – some very clever stuff. It was amazing!

A video, inside your head, awesome…
